Manipur team for Santosh Trophy 2010 Top
As a part of the selection process for formation of Manipur team for the 64th edition of national football championship for the Santosh Trophy, a friendly match between players based in the state and those based outside and currently playing in different clubs of the country was held on 6th july at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium. The team comprising players of different clubs based in the state defeated the team comprising players based outside the state by 2-1 scoreline. Subhash and R Vashum scored for the local team while Bijen scored for outside Manipur team in the dying minute of the match to reduce the margin, 2-1. Final selection of the Manipur team was made immediately after the match which comprises of eight players based in the state and 12 based outside the state. The players finally selected to represent Manipur for the Santosh Trophy, 2009-10 to be held at Kolkata are Lalit Thapa, Basant Singh and Thoi, all of them goal keeper. In defender, the selected players are Th Naoba, Samananda Singh, Syed Farid, Raju Singh, W Ngouba Singh and Ajitkumar Singh while in midfielder the selected players are R Vashum, Bishesor Singh, Ajitkumar Charan Rai, N Bangkok Singh, Nabachandra Singh and Ibotomba Singh. For forward, the selected players are Subhash Singh, Jotin Singh, Nilakumar Singh and Malemnganba Meitei.
 
Manipur state Subroto Mukherjee football Top
Progressive High School, Thoubal defeated Haochong High School, Tamenglong by 4-0 in U-17 state level Subroto Mukherjee football tournament held at Khuman Lampak main stadium today. Y Inao, S Meiramba, M Aboi and Rameshkumar were goal scorer for the Thoubal team. In another match, Kangpokpi Model English School defeated Thawai High School of Ukhrul, 3-0. Thangkhosa Haokip, Y Nipen and Seilenhao Haokip of Kangpokpi team were goal scorer for the winning team. In today's last match, Halley English School of Imphal East and City High School of Imphal West locked in a goalless draw.
