Cluster I Karnataka 1-0 Meghalaya (1-0 Don Bosco 89′) In the opening day of the Santosh Trophy, Karnataka edged past Meghalaya 1-0 in a Cluster I match played at the Khardaha Ground here on Thursday. The all important goal was scored in the 89th minute through Don Bosco as Karnataka started off their campaign on a winning note. Cluster II Maharashtra 4-0 Chandigarh (1-0 Reuben D'Souza 35′, 2-0, 4-0 Surojit Bose (80′, 89′), 3-0 Alex Ambrose 87′) Maharashtra gave a thumping start to their Santosh Trophy campaign scoring a facile 4-0 victory over Chandigarh in a Cluster II encounter played at the Howrah Maidan. Surojit Bose scored an impressive brace, while Reuben D'Souza and Alex Ambrose too wrote their name on the scoresheet. Tripura 1-2 Andhra Pradesh (0-1Faijal 6′, 0-2 W.Vijay Kumar 10′, 1-2 Liton Maujumdar 73′) Barasat Stadium hosted another encounter of the Cluster II with Andhra Pradesh notching up the full points defeating Tripura 2-1. Faijal opened the scoring for Andhra Pradesh in the 6th minute , while W.Vijay Kumar doubled the lead in the 10th minute. Liton Maujumdar scored the consolation goal for Tripura in the 73rd minute.

The All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) has instructed the District Sports Associations (DSA) and District Football Associations (DFA) to hold club-level tournaments for sub-junior under-15 boys and girls from June. After the completion of the Grassroots School Programme in select schools, which is another component of AFC Vision India Project, the next programme is the club-level tournaments for sub-juniors, which all DSAs/DFAs must hold to prepare for the inter-district tournament. The All Manipur Football Association, in a statement, had said that after the grassroots programme, it was the youths in the under-15 category that needed to be groomed at the next level to keep continuity. The AFC Vision India Project was implemented in the state in 2006 under the guidance of the Asian Football Confederation and All India Football Federation.
