The Football Players Welfare Association (FPWA) on Monday announced the prize money of Rupees 5000 for the winners of the J&K Bank Run For Old City (Shahr-e-Khaas) scheduled to be held on Wednesday. In a statement issued the FPWA, treasurer Bilal Ahmad Wadera said, "Our President, Mehrajuddin Wadoo has directed us to give prize money of rupees 5000 for the winners of the upcoming historic run. The open category winner will get prize of rupees 3000 while as Under-17 category will get rupees 2000." "It is known fact in the state that Government is doing nothing for the promotion of sports and welfare of players. In that respect J&K Sports Development Association is doing fine job and we should also support them. We hope that events like this will open eyes of Government and they will start to work for welfare of players" FPWA member and senior Iqbal Sports footballer, Shabir Ahmad. The event is being organised by J&K Sports Development Association (JKSDA) in collaboration with Sports Fraternity of Dalgate and is sponsored by J&K Bank.
